Happy sled dogs.

The New York Times has published several stories about life during the pandemic.

What My Sled Dogs Taught Me about Planning for the Unknown is Blair Braverman’s touching exploration of leadership in the unknown. Just as sled dogs will run themselves ragged, we can’t plan to take care of ourselves or our teams later. We need to sleep before we crash, reach out before we need it, and support others before they ask. There’s no stronger way to meet the unknow then by making everyday life sustainable.

Blair is the author of “Welcome to the Goddam Ice Cube: Chasing Fear and Finding Home in the Great White North”.

Our Normalness Made Me Drunk. Maybe It Made Me Stupid. Julia O’Malley writes of the longing for normalcy and that even a remote fish camp isn’t an escape from the pandemic. “Flying home, I thought about how deep the virus slices into the sacred, seasonal rituals of our lives. Politics aside, it’s hard to fault someone for the desire to preserve some of their pre-pandemic life, even if it means believing thins that don’t really hold up, even if it’s risky.”
